8300 Blackberry Curve

July 2, 2007

I bought my Blackberry Curve about two weeks ago. I have to say I am happy. Now for those of you have an IPhone I will say you do have some features I don’t. First this blackberry has a camera. This is the second in RIM’s lineup. The pearl being the first. Secondary it has the voice dialing. Once you get used to it a little rigid in it’s execution. It can be handy. It will record video and it accepts a micro sd card. It will play MP3’s. The thumbwheel is now on the front of the phone as it did with the Pearl. It continues like the 8700 and 8800 with a full qwerty keyboard. It includes a Push To Talk.  I have never used it so I can’t comment there. It will support TeleNav maps with a bluetooth paired receiver. It also includes the ability to send voice notes as well. Overall, it doesn’t have the ability to scroll through mp3’s like a roledex or zoom in on sections of web pages like an IPhones. However, mine is able to be activated at the time. I can swap batteries for only the cost of the battery. My data plan is a little higher than theirs.

In all reality I was going to buy an IPhone. It came down to price. Mine cost me $50 with a trade in and a rebate.  Secondly, I can’t constitute that kind of price for a UDMA network phone. Also, for 4gb or 8gb hard drive. I have a 30gb Ipod, why would I down size? I am interested if Apple increases the hard drive, adds the 3g network support, and it doesn’t lock me into a two year contract for a non-subsidized phone.

Are you using a mac to sync your curve? If so how are you transfering music and videos to it?
